Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of ureteroscopy in the treatment of acute renal failure caused by upper urinary tract obstruction. Methods 47 cases with acute obstructive renal failure who underwent ureteroscopy from April 2013 to May 2016 were collected from Yunfu People′s Hospital. All the different time points before and after surgery in patients with renal function indexes of urea nitrogen, creatinine were compared, and treatment effect was evaluated. Results All patients were successfully completed the ureteroscopy operation, urea nitrogen and creatinine were decreased in varying degrees after operation, creatinine was decreased to normal at 3 d after operation in 6 patients, and 26 patients were fell to normal at 7 d after operation.Followed up for 6 months, the urea nitrogen and creatinine of 32 patients were decreased to normal,no one with complication like ureteral perforation, fracture, avulsionafter operation.Urea nitrogen and creatinine were decreased gradually after ureteroscopy operation, with significant differences(P<0.01).Conclusion Ureteroscopy is safe and effective for the treatment of acute obstructive renal failure. It can quickly relieve ureteral obstruction, drain urine and protect renal function. It can be the first choice for acute renal failure caused by upper urinary tract obstruction.
