Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the causes of misdiagnosis of herpes zoster and to provide a reliable reference for improving the accuracy of clinical diagnosis of herpes zoster.Methods150 patients with herpes zoster misdiagnosed as other diseases in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2015 were selected as study objects. The clinical data of 150 patients with herpes zoster were analyzed retrospectively. The causes of misdiagnosis were analyzed.ResultsAmong 150 herpes zoster misdiagnosed cases, the proportion of elderly patients accounted for 47.33%,the proportion of young and middle-aged patients accounted for 52.67%,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The main sites of misdiagnosis was trigeminal nerve, cervical ganglion, thoracic nerve and lumbosacral nerve, and the proportion was respectively 28.67%,30.67%,20.67%,20.00%;the main diseases misdiagnosed was trigeminal neuralgia, intercostals neuralgia, glaucoma, acute otitis media, tympanic membrane perforation, and the proportion was respectively 12.00%, 11.33%,10.00%,8.00%and 7.33%.The main reason of misdiagnosis was that early symptoms of herpes zoster were not typical, for the first time the doctors′diagnosis process had problems. The misdiagnosed cases were given symptomatic treatment after further diagnosis. After treatment,139 patients with pain symptoms disappeared or significantly reduced, and the symptoms of skin discomfort disappeared in 11 patients who did not appear pain symptoms.ConclusionIn the clinical diagnosis of herpes zoster, clinicians should improve their professional knowledge and conduct a comprehensive judgment by comprehensive examination, pay attention to the differential diagnosis of herpes zoster and other similar clinical symptoms of disease,as far as possible to reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis.
