Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between physical growth deviation and feeding difficulties for outpatient children in department of children healthcare. Methods The related data of 4017 cases of infants who were treated in our hospital from April 2012 to April 2014 were analyzed by using the self-drafted questionnaire on infant feeding difficulty scale and questionnaire survey for determination of infant physical development. Results Altogether 860 cases had feeding difficulties, the incidence rate was 21.41%;539 cases(62.67%)with mild feeding difficulties;224 cases (26.05%)with moderate feeding difficulties;97 cases(11.28%)with severe feeding difficulties;187 cases(4.66%)with growth retardation;263 cases(6.55%)with low birth weight,225 cases(5.60%)with weight loss.Among 673 cases(78.26%)without growth retardation,492 cases(12.8%)with mild feeding difficulties,157 cases(4.1%)with moderate feeding difficulties,24 cases(0.6%)with severe feeding difficulties, was less than those infants with growth retardation[mild:47 cases(25.1%); moderate:67 cases(35.8%);severe:73 cases(39%)](P<0.05);there were 453 cases(12.1%)with mild feeding difficulties, 131 cases(3.5%)with moderate feeding difficulties and 13 cases(0.3%)with severe feeding difficulties in those infants without low body weight, was less than those infants with low body weight[mild:86 cases(32.7%);moderate:93 cases (35.4%);severe:84 cases(31.9%)](P<0.05).Conclusion Taking positive and effective measures in prevention of infant feeding difficulties for outpatient children in Department of Children Healthcare can effectively reduce the incidence of infant growth deviation, strengthen the diet intervention and the knowledge related to infant feeding, and reduce the incidence of physical growth deviation.
