Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of policy intervention on the clinical application of antimicrobial agents in a Second-class hospital.Methods Before and after the implement of"further strengthen the antibacterial drug clinical application management"by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the P.R.C in August 2015,the evaluation indexes of clinical antimicrobials use in a Second-class hospitalwere compared.Results After the policy intervention,the varieties of antimicrobial drugs decreased from 40 to 32.The antibiotic use rate respectively decreased from 25.0%,45.2%,71.4%to 19.8%,35.6%,58.5%for outpatient,emergency and inpatient(P<0.05).The antibacterial use density of inpatient declined from 50.8 DDDs to 39.2 DDDs(P<0.05).The antimicrobial prophylaxis of classⅠincision operation corresponded to the standards,the preventivemedication ratio from 38.9%to 29.5%;the percentage of drug treatmentwithin 24 hours from 92.7%to 98.3%;themedication for a reasonable rate from 89.8%to 96.6%;drug selecting reasonable rate from 90.4%to 97.5%(P<0.05).The rate of themicrobiological specimen submitted to examination for inpatient increased from 18.5%to 31.5%(P<0.05).Conclusion Policy intervention is helpful to the clinical standardized application of antimicrobial agents.The long-term mechanism should be improved in the future in order to further consolidate the results.
