Influence of Resveratrol supp lement on behavior of zebrafish larvae to acute ethanol exposure

Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of Resveratrol supplement on behavior of zebrafish larvae to acute ethanol exposure induced by different concentrations of ethanol under varying light conditions.Methods 300Wild-type AB strain zebrafish larvae(0 day post fertilization,0 dPF)without eggmembrane were randomly divided into two groups,and were treated with system water or resveratrol for 4 days,respectively.Each group was divided into 4 teams (36 per team)at 5 dpf,and acutely exposed under alcohol(0.0%,0.5%,1.0%,2.0%).Distancemoved perminute was recorded under alternating 1ight-dark challenges,and the data was analyzed by two-factors analysis of variance.Results Acute exposure to 0.0%and 0.5%alcohol,the locomotor activity was decreased in Resveratrol supplement-treated zebrafish larvae in darkness.In the startle response to light changes,the swimming distance ratio of Resveratrol supplement under 0.5%alcohol exposured was significantly increased.The swimming distance ratio was showed over 1 in 2.0%alcohol treated groups without Resveratrol supplement.Conclusion Resveratrol supplement in early development of zebrafish larvae can exert significant influences on the behavior changes induced by acute ethanol exposure.
