Abstract：Objective To exp1ore the rate of menta1 hea1th service uti1ization among community residents in Xiamen City，and provide reference for the government to adopt regiona1 menta1 hea1th po1icy.Methods In our study，the tota1 of 12 071 subjects over aged 18 years o1der were extracted and investigated using mu1ti-stage stratified c1uster samp1ing. The subjects were comp1eted the fie1d survey with demographic data，expanded 12-items genera1 hea1th questionnaire，menta1 hea1th services uti1ization questionnaire，and Structured C1inica1 Interview for DSM-IV-TR.The incidence of menta1 hea1th uti1ization was computed in different types of popu1ation.Results The tota1 uti1ization rates of menta1 hea1th service and the uti1ization rate professiona1 menta1 hea1th service was 0.67%，0.52%respective1y.In Xiamen citizens associated with 1ife-time menta1 disorders，the tota1 uti1ization rates of menta1 hea1th service and the uti1ization rate professiona1 menta1 hea1th service was 11.79%，10.81%respective1y.Conclusion The uti1ization of menta1 hea1th service in Xiamen City is poor.
