Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical effect of Rhubarb-Mirabilite Powder combined with conventional anti-infective treatment in patients with abdominal wall incision infection or dehiscence after cesarean section. Methods A total of 87 patients with abdominal wall incision infection or dehiscence after cesarean section treated in the Affiliated Suzhou Hospital of Nanjing Medical University (Suzhou Municipal Hospital) from January 1, 2018 to December 31,2020 were selected for retrospective analysis. According to their treatment methods, they were divided into the control group (43 cases) and the observation group (44 cases). The control group received anti-infection and conventional dressing change. The observation group received anti-infection and conventional dressing change treatment, and external application of Rhubarb-Mirabilite Powder was given to the incisions additionally. The incision healing grade, bacterial culture negative time, induration disappearance time, incision complete healing time, hospitalization time, inflammatory factor indexes (C-reactive protein [CRP], procalcitonin [PCT], white blood cell count [WBC]), the re-debridement and suture rate were compared between the two groups. Results The incision healing grade of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The bacterial culture negative time, induration disappearance time, incision complete healing time, hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After one week of treatment, the levels of CRP, PCT and WBC in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of CRP, PCT and WBC between the two groups (P>0.05). The rate of re-debridement and suture in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The external application of Rhubarb-Mirabilite Powder combined with conventional anti-infective treatment can effectively promote the healing of infected incisions after cesarean section, reduce the rate of re-debridement and suture, and shorten the hospitalization time.
