Objective To investigate the influence of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) network maintenance on intermittent infection of PICC in tumor chemotherapy patients. Methods From November 2018 to November 2019,97 patients with malignant tumor who underwent chemotherapy in Anshan Cancer Hospital were selected. They were divided into the control group group (n=48) and the study group (n=49) according to the random number table method.Routine catheterization was performed in the control group, the study group was given PICC network maintenance. The maintenance period and PICC retention time between the two groups were compared, and the occurrence of PICC related infections in the two groups was monitoried and counted. Results The maintenance period of the patients in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, while the PICC retention time in the study group was longer than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The incidence of PICC related infection in the study group was 4.08%,which was lower than that in the control group group (18.75%),the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion PICC network maintenance can improve the PICC maintenance effect of tumor chemotherapy patients, reduce the incidence of intermittent infection and prolong the PICC retention time.
