Content determination of paeoniflorin in Chanhou Zuoyue Paste by high performance liquid chromatography

Objective To establish a high performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of paeoniflorin in Raidix Paeoniae Alba in Chanhou Zuoyue Paste.Methods High performance liquid chromatography was used to determine the content of paeoniflorin in Chanhou Zuoyue Paste, the chromatographic columns were Venusil MP C18(250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm, 100A) or Diamonsil C18 (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm).The mobile phase was acetonitrile-water(14∶86), the detection wavelength was 230 nm, and the flow rate was 1.0 ml/min.Results The detection concentration of paeoniflorin in the range of 1.93-38.60 μg/μl showed a good linear relationship with the peak area integral value (r=0.9999), the average recovery was 99.96%, RSD was 0.81% (n=9).Conclusion This method is simple, accurate, and reproducible, it can be used for the quality control of Chanhou Zuoyue Paste.
