Abstract: Objective To summarize the effect of intravenous team management model combined with health education in PICC catheterization of cancer patients, and to explore its value. Methods A total of 94 cancer patients who received peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC) catheterization in the Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital from January 2019 to March 2020 were selected. They were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method, with 47 patients in each group. The control group were given conventional nursing care, and the study group were given intravenous team management model combined with health education. The complications, catheterization compliance, self-care ability and health knowledge mastery were compared between the two groups. Results The total complication rate in the study group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The catheterization compliance in the study group was higher than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The scores of self-care ability and health knowledge mastery in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Intravenous team management model combined with health education can improve catheterization compliance and reduce complications in PICC catheterization of cancer patients. It is worthy of promotion.
