Effect of narrative psychotherapy on the choice of delivery mode and postpartum breastfeeding of high-risk pregnant women

Objective To explore the effect of narrative psychotherapy on the choice of delivery mode and postpartum breastfeeding of high-risk pregnant women.Methods From May to December 2020,80 high-risk pregnant women admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University were selected as the research objects.According to coin tossing method,they were divided into the control group and the observation group,40 patients in each group.Patients in the control group were given routine nursing,while patients in the observation group were given routine nursing and narrative psychological intervention.Both groups were observed for 8 weeks.The psychological status,delivery modes and outcomes,and scores of breastfeeding self-efficacy scale of the two groups were compared.Results Before intervention,there were no significant differences in the scores of anxiety and depression between the two groups(P>0.05).After narrative psychotherapy,anxiety and depression of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The natural labour rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and delivery outcome was better than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before intervention,there were no significant differences in breastfeeding knowledge and confidence in breastfeeding scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,breastfeeding knowledge and confidence in breastfeeding scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Narrative psychotherapy can alleviate unhealthy emotions of parturients,reduce the incidence of fetal distress,lower the risk of childbirth,and improve maternal confidence in breastfeeding.
