Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of percutaneous pedicle screw insertion combined with vertebroplasty on the lumbar function of patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures. Methods From February 2016 to February 2020,85 patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures admitted to Qingyang People′s Hospital in Gansu Province were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group(42 cases)and the observation group(43 cases). The control group was treated with posterior pedicle internal fixation, and the observation group was treated with percutaneous pedicle screw insertion combined with vertebroplasty. The function of the lumbar spine, the Cobb angle of the injured vertebrae, the height of the anterior and posterior edges of the vertebral body before and after the operation, the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and pain score were compared between the two groups. Results At 3 months after the operation, the Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 months after the operation, the JOA scores of the two groups were higher than those before the operation, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 months after the operation, the Cobb angle of the injured vertebrae in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group, and the height of the anterior edge of the vertebral body and the height of the posterior edge of the vertebral body were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 months after the operation, the Cobb angles of the injured vertebrae of the two groups were smaller than those before the operation, and the height of the anterior edge of the vertebral body and the height of the posterior edge of the vertebral body were higher than those before the operation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The operation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, the intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group, and the pain score was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous pedicle screw insertion combined with vertebroplasty can be used in patients with thoracolumbar compression fractures, which can improve the surgical effect, promote the improvement of the lumbar spine shape, and restore the lumbar spine function well.
