Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) in the treatment of vertebral compression fracture.Methods A total of 46 patients with vertebral compression fracture in our hospital from January 2013 to June 2016 were enrolled and evenly divided into observation group and control group in random.In the control group,percutaneouskyphoplasty (PKP) was used,and PVP was performed in the observation group.The visual analogue scale (VAS) score between the two groups were compared.The pain VAS scores before and first day after surgery were calculated.X-ray for patients was required before,first day and first year after surgery in order to measure the height changes of the vertebral body.The actual height of the vertebral body was deduced based on DR.According to the outcomes of X-ray,the incidence of adjacent vertebral fracture and the degree of bone cement leakage were determined.Results After therapy,the VAS scores in the two groups decreased significantly,and the pain relief was obvious,but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).The time of operation in the observation group was greatly shorter than that in the control group,and the volume of cement injection was significantly larger than the control group,with significiant differences (P<0.05).The rate of bone cement leakage in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,but there was no significant difference (P>0.05).During one-year follow up visits after operation,the loss of the height of vertebral body was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).There was an increase in injured vertebrae after surgeries,which was significantly lower in the observation group than the control group,with significiant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion Percutaneous vertebroplasty for the patients with vertebral compression fractures have a remarkable clinical effect,reduce the incidence of postoperative complications,and the operation is simple,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
