Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of total thyroidectomy in the treatment of multiple thyroid nodules. Methods A total of 100 patients with multiple thyroid nodules treated in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into the control group and the experimental group by random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with subtotal thyroidectomy, and the experimental group was treated with subtotal thyroidectomy. The clinical effect, operation condition, thyroid function(including thyroid stimulating hormone[TSH],serum free T4[FT4],free T3[FT3])and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The operation time, extubation time and discharge time of the experimental group were shorter than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The amount of intraoperative bleeding in the experimental group was less than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The indexes of TSH,FT4 and FT3 in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Total thyroidectomy for multiple thyroid nodules is effective and safe.
