Abstract： Objective To investigate the effect of Liaoxuan Kaxifu Pills treating moderate to severe scalp seborrheic dermatitis (SSD). Methods A total of 116 patients SSD admitted to the Seventh People′s Hospital of Shenyang City from October 2017 to may 2020 were selected as the research objects and divided into the experimental group and the control group by simple randomilization, with 58 cases in each group. The patients in the experimental group were treated with Liaoxuan Kaxifu Pills combined with Ketoconazole Lotion, while the patients in the control group were treated with Ketoconazole Lotion. The total effective rate, symptom score and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in experimental group (94.83%) was higher than that in control group(82.76%), and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05). The pruritus score ([0.92±0.06] points), scale score([1.24±0.23] points) and papule score ([1.19±0.21] points) in experimental group were lower than those in control group([1.63±0.25], [1.72±0.34], [1.63±0.27] points), and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Concise health measurement scales (SF-36) scores in experimental group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P＜0.05). Conclusion Liaoxuan Kaxifu Pills is helpful to relieve the symptoms of pruritus and scales in patients with moderate to severe SSD, and improve its overall efficacy.
