Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between LASS2 and Ki67 expression with the recurrent of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)and its significance.MethodsA total of 126 cases of NPC biopsy specimens in our hospital from 2011 to 2014 were collected,including 77 initial cases and 49 recurrent cases.Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of LASS2 protein and Ki67 in 126 patients with NPC.The difference between the expression of LASS2 and Ki67 in the two groups and their correlation were analyzed.ResultsThe positive rate of LASS2 in recurrent cases was 61.2%,which was lower than 88.3%of the initial cases,with significant difference(P<0.001).Ki67 had no significant correlation with the recurrence of NPC(P>0.05),however,there is a negative correlation between LASS2 expression and Ki67 (P<0.05).ConclusionLASS2 was low-expressed in the recurrence of NPC.Detection of LASS2 protein may help to prompt tumor recurrence.LASS2 may be a clinically significant biological indicator for predicting the recurrence of NPC.LASS2 is negatively correlated with Ki67.It is suggested that LASS2 may inhibit the proliferation of NPC tumor cells.
