Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Simvastatin in the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma. Methods 42 patients with chronic subdural hematoma were collected from Februray 2016 to February 2017.The patients were divided into treatment group and control group according to the principle of randomization grouping and there were 21 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Simvastatin and the control group was not given Simvastatin. The patients were followed up for 3 months. The hematopoietic volume of the patients was calculated by modified Tada formula. The recovery of neurological function was evaluated by Markwalder classification. After 3 months treatment, the occurrence of hematoma recurrence and treatment efficiency were recorded. Results The effective rate (90.48%) in the treatment group was significantly higher than those of the control group (61.90%),and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Clinical effect of Simvastatin in the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma is good therapeutic, and has a positive effect on the recovery of neurological function.
