Abstract:Objective To explore the research status of China′s respiratory system research status and the gap with advanced countries in the world.Methods Using bibliometric method,based on the Web of Science′s literature data in the field of respiratory system from 2016 to 2018,a comparative analysis was conducted with the United States,Britain,Canada,and Japan,which ranked first in terms of the number of publications.The number of publications,the year of publication,the type of literature,the subject category,and the influence of science and technology were discussed.Results The development trend of respiratory system research in all countries had converged in the past 3 years.Meeting abstracts and articles accounted for 81%of the entire respiratory system literature.Among the five countries,the United States,Canada,and Japan had a relatively even distribution of document types,literature in the Britain was mainly the review,and China was the article.There were 331 high-cited articles in the field of respiratory system,211 in the United States accounting for 64%of the total,123 in the Britain accounting for 37%,27 in China accounting for 8%,84 in Canada accounting for 25%,and 31 in Japan accounting for 9%.Among the subject categories,Critical Care Medicine in the United States accounted for 75%of the world total,Oncology in China accounted for 24%,Japan and Britain accounted for 17%and 14%respectively,and Surgery in Japan accounted for 10%.Conclusion The number of research articles on respiratory system in China has steadily increased,some high-impact articles have been produced,but the ratio to the number of articles is relatively low,and the type of literature is relatively monotonous.The research categories of Oncology is relatively prominent,occupying a certain share in the world.
