Application effect of cognitive behavioral therapy in the patients with schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of cognitive behavioral therapy in the patients with schizophrenia.Methods A total of 200 patients with schizophrenia during remission who were hospitalized in Hui′ai Hospital of Guangzhou City from June 2014 to March 2016 were enrolled as subjects.According to the different intervention methods,they were divided into control group and study group,with 100 patients in each group.However,during the entire study period,affected by various factors,some patients were withdrawn from the study.The final study group was 92 patients and the control group was 87 patients.The control group was given routine treatment,nursing and health education.The study group was given individual cognitive behavioral therapy interventions based on the control group.Before and after intervention and 3,6,12 months after discharge,led by psychiatrists who received relevant training,the brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS),the insight and treatment attitude questionnaire(ITAQ),and the self-developed medication compliance survey were used,and the patients′condition,self-knowledge,treatment attitude and medication compliance were assessed respectively.Results The scores of BPRS in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group after intervention and 3,6,12 months after discharge,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of ITAQ in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group after intervention and 3,6,12 months after discharge,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The complete compliance rate to medica-tion of patients in the study group were higher than those in the control group at 3,6 and 12 months after discharge,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application effects of cognitive behavioral therapy in the patients with schizophrenia can effectively improve patients′treatment compliance,and maintain their attitude during treatment,so as to further improve therapeutic effects and enhance patients′clinical symptoms.
