The value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the diagnosis of intrahepatic focal lesions

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)compared with conventional Ultrasound (US)and enhanced CT (CECT)in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of atypical hepatic focal lesions(FLL).Methods In our hospital from January 2014 to December 2017,36 patients with 40 FLL were respectively given US,CEUS and CECT examination,using pathological results as the gold standard,the test results of three groups were compared with pathological findings of test sensitivity,specificity,accuracy three groups was compared.Results With pathological results as the gold standard of US in the diagnosis of FLL the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy were 63.3%(19/30),60.0%(6/10),62.5%(25/40);CEUS diagnosis of FLL the sensitivity,specificity and accuracy were 93.3%(28/30),80.0%(8/10),90.0%(36/40).The sensitivity,specificity and accuracy of CECT in the diagnosis of FLL were 90.0%(27/30),80.0%(8/10),and 87.5%(35/40),respectively.The sensitivity and accuracy of CEUS and CECT in the diagnosis of atypical FLL were significantly better than those of US(P＜0.05）.There was no significant difference between CEUS and CECT in the diagnosis of FLL(P＞0.05）.Conclusion CEUS and CECT have high clinical value in the differential diagnosis of atypical FLLand benign and malignant lesions,which are all higher than those of US.
