Abstract:ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of Gemcitabine chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer after laparoscopic implantation of125I radioactive particles.MethodsFrom May 2016 to May 2017,40 patients with advanced pancreatic cancer treated in our hospital were enrolled as the research object. With the consent of the patients, they were evenly divided into reference group and research group by drawing lots.In the reference group,Gemcitabine chemotherapy alone was used, while in the research group, laparoscopic implantation of125I radioactive particles followed by Gemcitabine chemotherapy was adopted. The diameters of tumor, jaundice index and body weight were compared between the two groups after treatment. The symptoms of abdominal pain and ascites, and nutritional status of the patients in both groups were observed and the improvement rates were compared. The occurrence of pancreatic fistula and hemorrhage was observed and recorded in the research group and the safety of the operation was summarized.ResultsAfter treatment, the tumor diameter of the research group was significantly smaller than that of the reference group. The jaundice index was significantly lower, and the weight gain increased obviously compared with those in the reference group. In the research group, the improvement rates of abdominal pain, ascites and nutritional status were higher than those in the reference group. The indexes mentioned above were displayed statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05).The incidence of relevant complications in the research group was 10.00%,which was not significantly different from that in the reference group accounting for 0.00%(P>0.05).ConclusionAfter laparoscopic implantation of125I radioactive paticles, combination of Gemcitabine chemotherapy in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer can effectively reduce tumor size, decrease jaundice index, relieve the symptoms of abdominal pain and ascites, improve the nutritional status, and help patient to gain weight as well as improve quality of life.In addition, the incidence of relevant complications after particle implantation is low,the combined therapy is safe and effective for the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer and is worth promoting.
