Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of health education based on WeChat platform on reduction of uncertainty in illness in parents whose children suffering from Kawasaki diseases. Methods From May 2013 to October 2014,70 children patients with Kawasaki diseases admitted into our hospital and their parents were selected as research objects and evenly divided into observation group and control group in random. In the observation group, health education based on WeChat was adopted, while in the control group, conventional nursing mode was used. The uncertainty in illness by parents before and after intervention, mastering of disease-related knowledge after intervention, and satisfaction on health education were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, dimensional scores and total score of uncertainty in illness in the observation group were all significantly decreased, and lower than that in the control group respectively in the same period(P<0.05).In the control group, mastering degree of disease-related knowledge and satisfaction on health education in the control group was lower than that in the observation group respectively(P<0.05). Conclusion Health education based on WeChat can significantly decrease uncertainty in illness in parents whose children suffering from Kawasaki disease, increase the cognitive level of disease-related knowledge by their parents, and improve satisfaction on health education, which is worthy of further promotion in clinic.
