Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of combined treatment of severe hand footmouth disease detoxifies decoction of traditional Chinesemedicine and western medicine.Methods 100 cases of severe hand，foot and mouth disease in our hospital from March 2013 to September 2014 were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group.The control group were given conventional treatment，the treatment group was treated with antipyretic detoxification decoction on the basis of routine treatment.The improvement of symptoms and signs in two groups were observed and compared.Results The body temperature time，mental state，sleep time，nausea/vomiting and irritability/ tremor in the treatment group ameliorated faster，and white blood cells decreased significantly（P＜0.01）.Total score of the treatment group after treatmentwas（1.1±1.84）points，lower than（5.52±2.410）points the control group（P＜0.01）.The total effective rate of treatment group was 96%，higher than 70%in the control group，the difference was statistically significant（P＜0.01）.Adverse reactionswere not found in clinical treatment.Conclusion The antifebrile detoxification decoction of traditional Chinesemedicine and westernmedicine combined treatment of severe hand，foot and mouth disease curative effect is distinct，effectively improve the patients′clinicalmanifestations，shorten the course of disease.Antifebrile detoxification decoction is safe in clinical application.
