Abstract:Objective To research the feasibility of Lamotrigine combined with low-dose Valproic Acid treating epilepsy. Methods A total of 62 patients with epilepsy who were treated in our hospital from March 2015 to March 2016 were enrolled in and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 31 patients in each group. The observation group was treated with Lamotrigine combined with Valproic Acid, while the control group was treated with Valproic Acid. The clinical effect, epilepsy seizure and incidence of adverse reaction of patients between two groups were compared. The correlation of blood concentration of Lamotrigine and Valproic Acid in observation group were analyzed. Results The total effective rate of observation group(93.55%)was significantly higher than that of control group(74.19%) (P<0.05).The number of seizures, duration time, epileptic discharge and the number of lead involved of the two groups were all significantly lower after treatment(P<0.01)and the related indicators in observation group were all significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.01).The correlations of blood concentration between Lamotrigine and Valproic Acid in observation group was positive(r=0.952,P<0.05).There was no statistical difference of incience rate of adverse reaction between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Lamotrigine combined with Valproic Acid can control seizure and significantly improve the clinical effect treating epilepsy.
