Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the etiology and treatment of amenorrhea of female psychotic patients treated with various antipsychotic medications.MethodsRetrospective analysis of the data of 68 cases of amenorrhea female psychotic patients who visited the gynecology clinic or hospitalized in our hospital and were treated with various antipsychotic medications from June 2012 to December 2016.All the data, including the results of measurement of sex hormones(PRL, FSH,LH,E2,P and T)levels and results of ultrasonic inspection(uterus, accessories and endometrial thickness),were collected.ResultsIt was found from the analysis of these data that there were 12 cases of patients with normal level of sex hormones and normal results of ultrasonic inspection(17.64%),46 cases with Antipsychotic-induced hyperprolactinemia(HPRL)(67.64%),8 cases with higher level of follicle stimulating hormone(6 cases FSH>10 IU;2 cases FSH>40 IU)(11.76%) and 2 cases with higher level of PRL and FSH(2.94%).Resultsof ultrasonic inspection indicated that there were 51 cases of patients with normal of uterine and adnexal(75.00%),9 cases with uterus polyp(13.20%),3 cases with ovary cyst(7.00%), 5 cases with polycystic ovary (17.60%).There were 22 cases of patients with the thickness of endometrial≤5 mm (32.30%),38 cases with the thickness of endometrial between 5 mm (55.80%)and 10 mm and 8 cases with the thickness of endometrial≥10 mm (11.70%).ConclusionIt can be claimed from the analysis of these data that the main etiology of amenorrhea female psychotic patients is relative to their state of the nervous tension, stress, depression, anxiety and antipsychotic medications which they take, except to the natural decrease of function of ordinary ovary and the change of polycystic ovary.Thence, sex hormones measurement and ultrasonic inspection should be exerted as the periodic and routine screening program in the clinical application for amenorrhea of female psychotic patients treated with various antipsychotic medications in a considerable long term of time.
