Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical application effect of valgus carotid endarterectomy in the treatment of carotid stenosis. Methods A total of 50 patients with carotid stenosis who were admitted to our hospital from September 2014 to August 2019 were selected as the research subjects.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group (25 cases) and the observation group (25 cases). The control group was given classic carotid endarterectomy, and the observation group was given valgus carotid endarterectomy. The duration of surgery, length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results The duration of surgery and the length of hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The plaque area in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group, and the intima-media thickness (IMT) in the observation group was thicker than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical application effect of valgus carotid endarterectomy in the treatment of carotid stenosis is favorable, which can shorten the duration of surgery and the length of stay, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, and has a higher application value.
