Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of red light irradiation applied to surgical incision of calcaneal fracture. Methods From January 2017 to January 2019, 90 patients with calcaneal fracture were selected as subjects and divided into observation group and control group according to the method of random number table, each with 45 cases. Both groups were treated with open reduction and internal fixation. The incisions in the observation group after operation were provided with red light irradiation besides conventional dressing changes, while in the control group, routine dressing change alone was carried. Both groups of patients were followed up for 3 months after surgery. The incision exudation and healing time of the two groups of patients were compared. On the second, fourth, and sixth days after surgery, the visual analogue scale (VAS) score was used to evaluate the incision pain of the two groups. The incidence of incision inflammation, skin margin necrosis, incision cracking, and incision infection with complications were compared. Results The incision exudation and healing time of the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).The VAS scores of patients on the second, fourth, and sixth days after operation in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incision inflammation rate and marginal necrosis rate in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in incision cracking or incision infection with complications rate (P>0.05).Conclusion The application of red light irradiation to the surgical incision of calcaneal fractures can shorten the time of exudation and healing, reduce the degree of pain, decrease the incidence of inflammatory reactions and necrosis of the skin margin, and has a great application value.
