Abstract:Objective To analyze and discuss the effect and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation in the treatment of benign thyroid nodules. Methods A total of 66 patients with benign thyroid nodules in Anshan Cancer Hospital of Liaoning Province from September 2017 to September 2019 were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the dynamic random grouping method, with 33 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional surgery, while the observation group was treated with ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation. The operative indexes, the incidence of complications and thyroid function were compared between the two groups. Results The amount of intraoperative bleeding in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the operation time, postoperative scar length and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of free triiodothyronine(FT3)and free thyroxine(FT4)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules has significant effect, which can not only improve the operation index, but also reduce the incidence of complications and improve thyroid function, which is suitable for clinical implementation and development.
