Abstract:Objective To investigate the influencing factors of intestinal necrosis in emergency operation of adult incarcerated inguinal hernia. Methods The clinical data of 76 patients with incarcerated inguinal hernia who underwent emergency surgery in Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The patient's age, gender, white blood cell (WBC), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), incarceration time, course of hernia, type of hernia, location of hernia, intestinal obstruction and intestinal condition were collected. Univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of intestinal necrosis in emergency operation. Results A total of 76 patients were included in the study, intestinal necrosis occurred in 23 cases (30.3%).Univariate analysis showed that incarceration time (≥24 hours) and intestinal obstruction had a significant impact on the occurrence of intestinal necrosis in emergency surgery (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed intestinal obstruction (β=1.732,OR=5.600, 95%CI:1.401-22.392) was the risk factor of intestinal necrosis in emergency operation of incarcerated inguinal hernia. Conclusion Intestinal obstruction can be used as a preoperative reference index for intestinal necrosis in emergency operation of incarcerated inguinal hernia.
