Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of nasal high flow humidification oxygen therapy on patients after tracheal intubation and extubation and its influence on blood gas analysis. Methods From January 2018 to June 2020, 100 patients with tracheal intubation and extubation in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Lianjiang People′s Hospital were selected as the research objects, and they were divided into experimental group (50 cases)and control group (50 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation, and the experimental group was treated with nasal high flow humidification oxygen therapy. The total effective rate of airway humidification, clinical outcome (times of sputum suction under fiberoptic bronchoscope, autonomous breathing time, ICU residence time) and changes of blood gas analysis indexes (pH value, arterial osygen pressure [PaO2] value, partial pressure of carbon dioxide in artery [PaCO2] value) were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of airway humidification in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The frequency of sputum suction in the experimental group was less than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The time of spontaneous breathing in the experimental group was longer than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The ICU residence time of the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no differences in blood gas analysis indexes between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05). There were no differences in blood gas analysis indexes between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion The effect of nasal high flow humidification oxygen therapy on patients after tracheal intubation and extubation is significant.
