Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of different courses of glucocorticoid in the treatment of moderate and severe subacute thyroiditis. Methods Sixty patients with moderate and severe subacute thyroiditis admitted to Xinyu People′s Hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into control group(30 cases)and observation group(30 cases)by random number table method. The control group received glucocorticoid treatment for 8 weeks. The observation group received glucocorticoid therapy for 6 weeks.Clinical efficacy, adverse reactions(weight gain, facial acne and digestive tract discomfort),treatment compliance and recurrence were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total treatment compliance of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in recurrence rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Patients with moderate and severe subacute thyroiditis treated with glucocorticoid for 8 weeks and 6 weeks can achieve ideal results, but the treatment for 6 weeks can improve the compliance of patients, and help to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, which has a certain feasibility.
