Abstract:Objective To systematily review the efficacy and safety of moxibustion for patients with cancer-related fatigue. Methods The computer retrieved nine databases,PubMed,CENTRAL,EMbase,CINAHL,Web of Science,Chinese biomedical literature database (CBM),China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI),Weipu Chinese science and technology journal full-text database (VIP) and WanFang databases (WanFang),from the database to the published literature until July 26,2020.A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was collected on the efficacy of all moxibustion methods in patients with cancer-induced fatigue. Two researchers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. Then Meta-analysis was performed using Rev Man 5.3 software. Results A total of 18 studies involving 1312 patients were included.Meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group, moxibustion was more effective in improving patient fatigue (SMD=-1.30,95%CI[-1.44,-1.16],P<0.000 01) and quality of life (SMD=1.39,95%CI[0.87,1.90],P<0.000 01).The reported adverse reactions were mild burns and could be absorbed by themselves without treatment. Conclusion Moxibustion can effectively improve the cancer-related fatigue of patients, improve the quality of life of patients and it is safe and worthy of clinical application. However, limited by the number and quality of included studies, the above conclusions need to be verified by more high-quality studies.
