Objective To explore the clinical effect of uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) via radial artery approach in the treatment of uterine fibroids. Methods A total of 70 cases of hysteromyoma admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to November 2019 were selected as subjects, and they were divided into observation group and control group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with UFE via femoral artery approach, and the patients in the observation group were treated with UFE via radial artery approach. The puncture time, total postoperative complication rate, and pain scores of 30 minutes, 6 hours and 24 hours after operation were compared between the two groups. Results The puncture time in the observation group was(7.57±2.80) min, which was shorter than that in the control group of (13.11±4.07) min, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was 8.57%, which was lower than that in the control group (28.57%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the pain score 30 min after operation of the two groups (P>0.05).The pain scores of the two groups at 6 h and 24 h after operation were lower than 30 min after operation, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).At 6 and 24 h after operation, the pain scores of patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with conventional transfemoral approach UFE, UFE via radial artery approach for uterine fibroids can further shorten the puncture time, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, and relieve patients′ pain symptoms
