Abstract:Objective To analyze the influence of enteral nutrition support via different catheterization modes on the complications and nutritional status of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) patients. Methods A total of 60 patients with COPD who received enteral nutrition support in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2019 were selected for research. According to random number table, patients were assigned to control group (via nasogastric tube,n=30) and observation group (via nasal jejunal feeding tube, n=30). Upon 1 d and 14 d of admission, arm muscle circumference, serum albumin, hemoglobin, and prealbumin levels and complication rate were counted. Results Upon 1 d of admission, arm muscle circumference, serum albumin, hemoglobin and prealbumin levels between groups were not significantly different (P>0.05); upon 14 d of admission, arm muscle circumference in the observation group was longer than that of control group; serum albumin, hemoglobin and prealbumin levels in the observation group were higher than those of control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05); the incidence rate of complications like abdominal distension, diarrhea, emesis, regurgitation and gastric content retention in the observation group was lower than that of control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Introducing nasal jejunal catheterization for COPD patients with enteral nutrition support has fewer complications than nasogastric catheterization, which can improve the nutritional status of patients. It is an effective and safe, simple operation method of catheterization
