Abstract:Objective To explore the stability of blood glucose, the cost of treatment and the impact on the quality of life of diabetes patients in primary hospitals. Methods A total of 206 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DW) in the community from March 2017 to July 2019 were selected. The general data of patients were collected and counted, the stability of blood glucose and quality of life were evaluated, and the relevant factors affecting the stability of blood glucose and quality of life were analyzed. Results Among the 206 T2DW patients, 133 (64.56%) had stable blood glucose and 73 (35.44%) had unstable blood glucose; hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smoking, drinking, poor diet control, overweight or obesity, and never exercising were independent risk factors affecting blood sugar stability (OR≥1, P<0.05). Among 206 T2DW patients, 146 (70.87%) had high quality of life and 60 (29.13%) had low quality of life. A total of 91 cases (44.17%) had treatment cost >5000 yuan and 115 cases (55.83%) had treatment cost ≤5000 yuan.Age ≥60 years old, unstable blood sugar, treatment cost >5000 yuan, poor diet control, overweight or obesity are independent risk factors affecting quality of life (OR≥1, P<0.05). Conclusion Diabetes patients in primary hospitals have higher treatment costs, better blood sugar stability and higher quality of life. Hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smoking history, drinking history, poor diet control, overweight or obesity, and never exercising are independent risk factors affecting blood sugar stability, while unstable blood sugar, treatment cost >5000 yuan, poor diet control, overweight or obesity are independent risk factors affecting quality of life, which should be paid attention to clinically.
