Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of multi-department cooperation in the management of foreign surgical instruments and implants, so as to ensure medical safety and eliminate medical hidden dangers. Methods A total of 1000 packages of foreign instruments and implants managed by the surgical department from June to November 2014 were randomly selected as the control group. From January to June 2015, 1000 packages of foreign instruments and implants managed by multi-department cooperation mode were randomly selected as the observation group. The qualified rate of cleaning and sterilization of foreign instruments and implants, the rate of delay in operation, the leakage rate of implants and the rate of doctors′ satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in the qualified rate of cleaning and sterilization and the leakage rate of implants between the observation group and the control group (P>0.05), but the delay rate of operation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of doctors in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion It is feasible to adopt the standard management mode of multi-department cooperation for foreign surgical instruments and implants. It can effectively improve the work efficiency and quality of foreign surgical instruments and implants, ensure the safety of patients, eliminate medical hidden dangers and improve the quality of nursing.
