Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of acupoint embedding combined with intense pulsed light in the treatment of chloasma. Methods A total of 120 patients with chloasma treated in our hospital from December 2016 to November 2017 were selected as subjects, and they were divided into the treatment group (60 cases)and the control group (60 cases)according to the random number table method. The treatment group was treated with syndrome differentiation acupoint embedding combined with intense pulsed light therapy once a month, and syndrome differentiation acupoint embedding was conducted half an hour before light therapy, while the control group was treated with intense pulsed light alone once a month with a course of 5 months. The chloasma area and severity index (MASI)score before and after treatment and the total effective rate of treatment were compared between the two groups. The absolute value of the VISIA image analysis system score before and after treatment and the improvement rate of skin pigmentation were compared between the two groups. The adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. The recurrence rates of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment,MASI score and VISIA image analysis system absolute score in both groups were lower than those before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).MASI score and VISIA image analysis system absolute score were lower in the treatment group than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 82.46%,which was higher than 53.45%of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).The improvement rate of skin pigmentation in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).No serious adverse reactions occurred in either group. After 12 weeks of follow-up,the recurrence rate of patients in the treatment group was 7.0%,which was lower than 15.5%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of chloasma with acupoint embedding and intense pulsed light can improve clinical efficacy and reduce recurrence rate.
