Abstract:ObjectiveTo discuss the clinical effect of the eustachian tube balloon dilation (ETBD)treating chronic secretory otitis media.Methods57 patients (61 ears)with chronic secretory otitis media treated in People′s Hospital of Puning City from January 2015 to February 2016 were selected and they were randomly divided into the observation group(29 patients,31 ears)and control group(28 patients,30 ears)according to hospital sequence.Patients in the observation group were treated with ETBD,while patients in the control group were treated with grommet insertion.Eustachian tube dysfunction(ETD),pure toneaudiometry(PTA)and treatment effect were compared between the two groups.ResultsETDQ-7 score in patients of the observation group was significantly lower than those of the control group after 6,12 and 18 months operation(P<0.05).PTA in patients of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group after 12 months operation (P<0.05).The effective rate of the observation group (83.9%,93.5%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(56.7%,43.3%)at after 12,18 months operation(P<0.05).ConclusionETBD treating chronic secretory otitis media can significantly relieve the clinical symptoms of the patients and improve the clinical effect.
