Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical significance of peripheral blood eosinophils(EOS),total IgE,interleukin-10(IL-10)and induced sputum EOS in wheezing assessment of recurrent wheezing infants. Methods A total of 40 cases of recurrent wheezing infants treated in people′s hospital in Pizhou city from February 2016 to December 2017 were randomly selected as objects and divided into API positive group(n=20)and API negative group(n=20)according to the asthma prediction index(API).In the same period, altogether 20 healthy infants with the health checkup in people′s hospital in Pizhou city were randomly selected as control group (n=20).Serum total IgE levels were measured by electrochemiluminescence method.Serum IL-10 levels were detected by chemiluminescence method.Peripheral blood EOS counts and the proportion of induced sputum EOS were detected by HE staining. Results The peripheral blood EOS counts,T-IgE levels and the proportion of induced sputum EOS in the API positive group were higher than those in the API negative group and the control group, the level of serum IL-10 was lower than that in the API negative group and the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of serum IL-10 in the API negative group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the peripheral blood EOS counts,T-IgE levels and the proportion of induced sputum EOS between the API negative group and the control group (P>0.05).Serum IL-10 was negatively correlated with total IgE and induced sputum EOS(r=-0.394,P<0.05;r=-0.659,P<0.05).Total IgE was positively correlated with induced sputum EOS (r=0.492,P<0.05).Peripheral blood EOS was negatively correlated with IL-10,and positively correlated with total IgE and induced sputum EOS (r=-0.668,P<0.05;r=0.445,P<0.05;r=0.521,P<0.05).Conclusion The peripheral blood EOS counts,T-IgE levels and the proportion of induced sputum EOS increase, and IL-10 levels decreas in infants with API positive recurrent wheezing. There is a correlation between the peripheral blood EOS,TIgE,induced sputum EOS and IL-10 levels and API,which has a good reference value in predicting the risk of asthma.
