Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of 3.0 T magnetic resonance (MR)diffusion weighted imaging(DWI)in the differential diagnosis of benign or malignant prostate lesions. Methods From June 2015 to October 2017,routine MR and DWI imaging data of 50 patients with prostatic lesions who were admitted in our hospital were collected. All cases were confirmed by pathology. They were equally divided into benign group and malignant group. The DWI signal and apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)values of benign and malignant prostate lesions were comparatively analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to obtain the best diagnostic demarcation point for ADC.Results The benign prostatic lesions showed contoured signal on DWI and a slight decrease in ADC.On the other hand,DWI showed a high signal in prostate cancer and a significance decrease in ADC.The ADC values of benign and malignant prostate lesions were(0.913±0.147)×10-3 mm2/s and(0.573±0.160)×10-3 mm2/s,respectively with a significant difference between the two(P=0.000).The area under the ROCcurve of prostatic lesions was0.963 based on ADC value with a threshold of 0.779×10-3mm2/s.The sensitivity was 80%and specificity was 96%.Conclusion 3.0 T MR DWI imaging has a high clinical value in judging the benign and malignant prostate lesions.
