Abstract:Objective To investigate the influence of two kinds of appliance on periodontal condition and alveolar bone condition in adult periodontal disease patients.MethodsA total of 100 adult periodontal disease patients who came to our hospital for orthodontic treatment of periodontal disease from June 2015 to May 2017 were selected as the study subjects.Among them,52 patients with Damon Q high torque appliance were selected as the observation group,and the other 48 patients with conventional MBT straight wire appliance were used as the control group.The improvement of periodontal tissue and alveolar bone condition before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in PLI,GI,PD,SBI,BOP and CAL before treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).After 6 months treatment,the above indexes in each group were compared with those before treatment,there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the indexes of PLI,GI,PD,SBI,BOP and CAL between the two groups after 6 months treatment(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the alveolar condition between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the alveolar bone condition of both groups improved significantly compared with before treatment(P<0.05),but the difference between the two groups after 6 months treatment was no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusion The adult periodontal disease patients take different appliance for correction,to ensure the oral hygiene under the premise of its periodontal condition can not be different due to different appliances and at the same time through the appliance after treatment,the patient′s alveolar bone condition can be significantly improved.
