Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore the clinical effect of low dose Etoposide in the maintenance treatment of small cell lung cancer.MethodsThe clinical data of 80 patients with limited-stage small cell lung cancer admitted into our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different therapeutic methods, all patients were divided into the research group and the control group,40 cases in each group. In the research group, lowdose Etoposide Capsule as a maintenance therapy was adopted, while in the control group,no medication was given. After 24-month follow-up visits, the therapeutic effect in the two groups was compared.ResultsThe disease free survival time in the research group was greatly longer than that in the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05).In the research group, the survival rates in 12thand 24thmonths after follow-up visits were both higher than those in the control group, with significant differences(P<0.05).After 12,18,and 24-month follow-up visits, the scores of quality of life in the research group were all superior to those in the control group, with significant differences(P<0.05).ConclusionIn the process of treating small cell lung cancer, application of low-dose Etoposide as a maintenance therapy can obtain a optimal effect by prolonging the disease free survival time, increasing the survival rate within 24 months, and improving long-term quality of life, which is worthy of further study and promotion.
