Abstract:Objective To observe the treatment effects of modified Maxingshigan decoction combined with Western medicine in the treatment of post-cold cough. Methods The 96 patients of post-cold cough from May 2015 to March 2016 in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was 46 cases and was treated by the routine treatment with Western medicine. The observation group was 48 cases and was treated by modified Maxingshigan decoction on the basis of control group. The treatment effects of two groups were compared after two courses of treatment. Results The cough symptom scores of two groups after treatment were significantly reduced(P<0.01),the symptom scores of the observation group after treatment of one week and two weeks were lower(P<0.01).The total efficient rate was 89.58%for the observation group. The total efficient rate was 78.26%for the control group. The difference in contrast with two groups had height statistically significance(P<0.01).Conclusion The treatment effects of modified Maxingshigan decoction combined with Western medicine for post-cold cough are apparently superior to the pure Western medicine treatment.
