Effect analysis of video education in elderly patients with lung function examination |

Abstract Objective To study the application effect of video education in pulmonary function examination of elderly patients. Methods A total of 130 elderly patients with lung function examination who were admitted to Dalian Port Hospital from March 2019 to March 2020 were selected as the research objects. By random number table method, the patients were divided into experimental group and reference group, with 65 cases in each group. Before the pulmonary function examination, patients in the reference group received the routine publicity and education of pulmonary function examination through health manual and operation demonstration, while patients in the experimental group received the routine publicity and education combined with multimedia video publicity and education. The time required to complete the pulmonary function examination, the completion rate of the pulmonary function examination and the quality of the examination results were compared between the two groups. Results The time required to complete lung function examination in experimental group was shorter than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The completion rate of pulmonary function examination in experimental group was higher than that in reference group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The quality of lung function examination results in experimental group was better than that in the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The health education of lung function examination in elderly patients can help patients to complete the examination better, improve the degree of completion of the examination, shorten the time of examination, and improve the quality of the examination results.
