| Curative effect of low dose Metoprolol in the treatment of severe heart failure |

Abstract ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical effect of low dose Metoprolol in the treatment of severe heart failure.Methods75 cases of patients with severe heart failure treated in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2016 were selected as the research objects and were randomly divided into the observation group (n=38)and the control group (n= 37).Patients in the control group were given routine treatment while patients in the observation group were treated with small dose of Metoprolol based on the treatment in the control group.And the clinical effect was compared between the two groups.ResultsAfter treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 97.37%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group (81.08%),and the difference was statistical significant(P＜0.05).The heart rate of the patients in the observation group was [(67.1±10.3)beats per min],which was lower than that of the control group [(75±12.5)beats per min],and the difference was statistical significant(P＜0.05).The diastolic pressure of the observation group after treatment was[(69.8±5.8)mmHg],which was lower than that of the control group[(76.1±8.0)mmHg],and the difference was statistical significant(P＜0.05).The observation group′s LVD was[(55.3±6.6)mm],LVS was[(36.1±7.3)mm] in the observation group were lower than those of the control group [(62.9±8.5)mm,(42.0±8.1)mm],and LVEF [(57.1± 6.1)%]in the observation group were higher than that of the control group[(51.9±5.5)%],and the differences were statistical significant(P＜0.05).The quality of life score in the observation group was [(86.3±3.7)points],which was higher than that of the control group [(72.2±5.1)points],and the difference was statistical significant(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion Low dose Metoprolol is effective in the treatment of severe heart failure and deserves to be popularized in clinic.
