Application effect of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist in ovulation induction therapy of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome |

Abstract Objective To explore application effect of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) in ovulation induction therapy of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).Methods A total of 100 PCOS patients treatedin the hospital from January to December in 2018 were enrolled in the study.They were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method,with 50 cases in each group.The observation group was given Gn-RHa to induce ovulation.The control group was given human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) for simple ovulation induction therapy.The ovulation induction indexes (days for follicle maturity,number of mature follicles and ovulation rate),levels of estrogen and progestin such as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) before and after treatment,incidence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS),natural pregnancy rate,multiple pregnancy rate,early abortion rateafter treatment,and the incidence of ovarian cysts after treatment in the next menstrual period of non-pregnant patientswere compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,there were no significant differences in days for follicle maturity,number of mature follicles,ovulation ratebetween the two groups (P>0.05).There were no significant differences in FSH and LH levels between the observation group and the control group after treatment (P>0.05).The E2 and P levels in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,there were no significant differences in natural pregnancy rate,early abortion rate or incidence of cyst between the two groups (P>0.05).The multiple pregnancy rate and incidence of OHSS in observation group were lower than those in control group,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion GnRHa ovulation induction therapy can reduce the levels of estrogen and progestogen after ovulation without affecting natural pregnancy rate of PCOS infertile patients,and the incidence of OHSS is lower.
