| Study on breast-cancer-related knowledge and health education need of rural women in Enping city |

Abstract Objective To explore the knowledge about breast cancer and the demand for health education of rural women in Enping city.Methods The questionnaire survey was conducted on women in rural area of Enping city from February 2016 and April 2017 using questionnaire designed.After acquisition of the informed consent of the respondents,the general information,the awareness degree of related knowledge of breast cancer,the understanding of the breast self-examination methods and demand for health education were investigated for the female residents.Results The incidence of female breast disease in rural area of Enping city was 56.0%,and the women with the features of low cultural level,no breast self-examination,family history of disease,older people had a higher incidence of breast disease and poor understanding of breast-cancer-related knowledge.Meanwhile,women in rural area of Enping city had a higher demand for breast cancer prevention and breast health knowledge,and it accounted for 78.3%and 77.1%respectively.And most of the women hoped to receive health education through TV/radio,medical staff,brochures and lectures.Conclusion The awareness of breast-cancer-related knowledge in rural women is lower and the incidence of clinical breast cancer is higher,as the result of which the residents have higher demand for breast cancer prevention and breast health knowledge.
