Abstract ObjectiveTo explore the influence of pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI)and weight gain during pregnancy on the outcome of cesarean section.Methods476 cases of pregnant women, who were checked and had hospital delivery in our hospital from January 2015 to July 2017,were selected as the research objects;the BMI before pregnancy was calculated;weight gain during pregnancy, body weight before delivery, neonatal birth weight and birth outcomes were also traced. The subjects were classified in accord with the China BMI classification standard, including underweight group with 56 cases, normal weight group with 253 cases, overweight group with 126 cases and obese group with 41 cases;according to the weight gain during pregnancy, they were classified into deficient-gain group with 60 cases,normal-gain group with 300 cases,excessive-gain group with 116 cases.ResultsBased on BMI classification, the pregnant women′s GDM rate, macrosomia rate and cesarean section rate of the four groups were significantly different, which were statistically significant(P<0.05).For the underweight group, macrosomia rate and GDM rate were both zero, and cesarean section rate was 26.78%;for the normal weight group,GDM rate was 7.11%,the macrosomia rate was 4.74%,and the cesarean section rate was 37.54%;for the overweight group,GDM rate was 14.28%,the macrosomia rate was 7.94%,and the cesarean section rate was 54.76%;for the obesity group, the GDM rate was 24.39%,the macrosomia rate was 24.39%,and the cesarean section rate was 60.97%.Based on classification in accord with the weight gain during pregnancy, the GDM rate, macrosomia rate and cesarean section rate of the groups with excessive-gain during pregnancy were significantly higher than those with normal-gain and deficient-gain (P<0.05).For deficient-gaingroup,the GDM rate was 3.33%,the macrosomia rate was 1.67%,and the cesarean section rate was 30.00%;for normal-gain group, the GDM rate was 6.33%,the macrosomia rate was 6.00%,and the cesarean section rate was 40.33%;for excessive-gain group, the GDM rate was 21.55%,the macrosomia rate was 11.21%,and the cesarean section rate was 56.03%.Conclusionfor those with higher pre-pregnancy body mass index and excessive weight gain during pregnancy, there are also higher incidences of GDM,macrosomia and cesarean section.
