Abstract Obejective To research the clinical effect of three-column theory in the operation of tibial plateau fractures. M ethods Sixty-five patients with tibial plateau fractures which admitted in Ningde Municipal Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from January 2014 to January 2015 were selected.According to the results of three-column typing,the appropriate surgical approach and methods of internal fixation were selected for the patients.1,3,6 months and 1 year after operation patients were given the regular physical examination.The operation time,the time of fracture healing and the HSSscore of 1 year after operation were statistically analyzed.Results Therewas 42 cases of single column fracture,20 cases of double column fracture,and 3 cases of three column fracture in the 65 patients.The operation time of patientswith single column fracture was(72.5±3.5)min,the operation time of patientswith double column fracturewas(90.6±4.7)min,and the operation time of patientswith three column fracture was(107.4±9.6)min,the operation time of the patients with different fracture classification had statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in fractuhre healing time among patientswith different fracture classification(P>0.05).After one year of operation,the score of HSS knee in patientswith single-column fracture was(83.2±1.3)points,the score of patients with double column fracture was(75.3±1.2)points,and the score of patients with three-column fracture was (71.1±1.1)points,the scores of patientswith different fracture classification had statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Three-column typing theory is effective in guiding the treatment of tibial plateau fractures,the function of the knee joint is restored to different extent,but the recovery degree is still affected by the fracture classification.
