Abstract Objective To investigate the epidemiological and endoscopic features of peptic ulcer in 2984 patients, and provide a valuable evidence base for clinical practice. Methods The subjects were 2984 patients diagnosed with peptic ulcer by electronic gastroscopy from January to December 2019 in the First People′s Hospital of Changde City,to investigate the influence of season, sex, age and lesion location on the prevalence rate. Results In 2019,24 518 patients underwent gastroscopy in hospital,2984 cases of peptic ulcer were detected, the prevalence was 12.17%,among them,1727 cases were duodenal ulcer (57.88%),975 cases were gastric ulcer (32.67%),241 cases were compound ulcer(8.08%),38 cases were anastomotic ulcer (1.27%),3 cases were Dieulafoy ulcer (0.1%).The detection rate of peptic ulcer was the highest in December (15.38%),the lowest in February (10.29%),the detection rates in autumn and winter were higher than those in spring and summer, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The ratio of male to female patients with peptic ulcer was 1.97∶1.00,including 1.78∶1.00 for duodenal ulcer,2.05∶1.00 for gastric ulcer,2.95∶1.00 for compound ulcer,18∶1 for anastomotic ulcer and 2∶1 for Dieulafoy ulcer, the prevalence of peptic ulcer in male was higher than that in female, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The prevalence of peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer and compound ulcer was the highest in the age group of 51-60 years old,the incidence of anastomotic ulcer was the highest in the age group of 61-70 years; The average age of patients with peptic ulcer was(52.46±14.10) years old, among them, the average age of patients with duodenal ulcer was (49.18±14.47) years old,the average age of patients with gastric ulcer was (57.14±12.22) years old,the average age of patients with compound ulcer was (55.73±12.32) years old,the average age of patients with anastomotic ulcer was (60.03±11.30) years old,and the average age of patients with Dieulafoy ulcer was (63.33±10.02) years old.Duodenal ulcer mainly distributed in the bulbar, accounting for 98.26%,and retrobulbar ulcer only accounted for 1.74%.The distribution of gastric ulcer was mainly in antrum, accounting for 56.31%,followed by the stomach angle, stomach body, pyloric duct, stomach fundus and cardia. Conclusion The prevalence of peptic ulcer in changde was 12.17%,mainly in duodenal bulb and gastric antrum ulcer,The incidence of peptic ulcer was closely related to season, gender and age,the highest prevalence was in the age group of 51-60 years old, winter and autumn were the peak incidence of peptic ulcer, and the prevalence rate of male was significantly higher than that of female.
